Not guilty pleas were entered Tuesday by a former Morro Bay High School teacher and varsity girls' swimming coach charged with having sex with one of his students and inappropriate communication with another. Andree, who began working at the high school in August of , has since resigned from his position at the high school. However, the judge did say Andree should not be in the presence of any female minors without another responsible adult present, which Andree agreed to. The DA's Office says as of now, Andree faces up to four years and eight months behind bars, if convicted. He remains out of custody and is due back in court for a pre-preliminary hearing on March

Homeless teacher gets help after former student recognizes him
John Martin, 59, was sacked from Padua College in , after the college's principal was told that he was having an affair with year-old former student, Samantha Anderson. Mr Martin, who taught at the school for 17 years, filed a complaint with the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal VCAT , which found the school had discriminated against him. Mr Martin taught Ms Anderson at the school's Rosebud campus when she was in year seven and eight. In , when she was in year 12, she joined Mr Martin's gymnasium, and trained regularly with him. In October that year the college principal, Christopher Houlihan, was told about an "apparent association" between Mr Martin and Ms Anderson. Mr Martin denied that he was having a sexual relationship with Ms Anderson but by December — two months after she finished year 12 — they started a relationship.
